The german B-Boy Mathias “Matze” Buckl started dancing in 1994. Since then, he was really successful with various crews, for example his first one, the “Skyliners”. Later on, he won together with the crew “L.E. alive” the second place at the “Battle Of The East”, a breaking championship in eastern Germany. Because of this, the were able to participate in the “Battle Of The Year”, a german battle.
In order to be the first german teacher to tutor dancing at schools, he received further education at an university in Leipzig. In the meantime he works as a biology, P.E. and dance teacher at a high school in Leipzig. However, he already had his first experiences with dancing as a school project four years earlier during an internship in Istanbul. And even before he shared his experiences with dance studios. From 2014 to 2016 he was the tutor of a child and youth project named “Breakdance meets Classic” in collaboration with the Elbland Philharmonie Sachsen. To inform people about his teaching, he filmed both this project and his daily work in dance classes.
